Futurewise careers guidance
Futurewise is a personalised careers guidance and planning
service and is most suitable for students aged 16. It provides them
with relevant up-to-date information and resources so that they can
make informed decisions about their future.
Futurewise ensures that young people get the right level
of support and information at the key transitional stages of their
educational development. The Futurewise service includes the
following:
Psychometric profiling and report
The Futurewise journey begins with psychometric profiling,
designed to identify abilities, aptitudes, personality traits and
interests. This profiling looks for fundamental abilities and the
scores are not improved by revision so students of all academic
abilities are able to complete the process. Following a profiling
session, students receive a detailed report which identifies their
strengths in reasoning that include:
- Verbal and numerical ability
- Perceptual, spatial and mechanical ability
- Personality and learning style
- Problem solving ability
The profiling results are presented in a series of graphs,
tables and easy-to-read reports. The report concludes by
identifying a number of career paths based upon the students'
profile results and subsequent further research.
Psychometric profile interpretation
- A 45-minute explanation of the profile results is given to all
students.
- A one-to-one guidance/group interview
- Futurewise members receive an interview with a careers guidance
professional to discuss their profile report and academic and
vocational aspirations. During this interview, students have the
opportunity to talk through the outcomes and identify their next
steps, actions and research.
Futurewise website
The Futurewise website provides students
with the opportunity to research universities, higher education and
